KJV Matthew 25:35-40
35. For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36. Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38. When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39. Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40. And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
- Singles Ministry
·
See 1 Corinthians 7:1-8, 25-40; Matthew 19:11,12. In
Scripture, the accomplishments of single adults are striking:
"Our
faith is based on a Jewish single adult from Galilee, whose ministry was
preceded by a single adult named John the Baptist, and whose mission
thrust was first modeled by a single adult named Paul."
----Harold Ivan Smith
·
This does not count Hagar, Ruth, Timothy and others.
·
The first organizational meeting of the early church (Acts
6) was in response to the needs of single adults (widows).
·
The Old and New Testaments mandate special care for widows
and orphans. (Exodus 22:22; 1 Timothy 5:3)
The
Lord is on the side of those who are alone, and He expects the same of
His church. (Dueteronomy 10:18; Psalm 146:9) This is the biblical
definition of "pure" religion. (James 1:26-27)

KJV Genesis 2:18-24
18
And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be
alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
19
And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the
field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what
he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature,
that was the name thereof.
20
And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air,
and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an
help meet for him.
21
And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he
slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead
thereof;
22
And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a
woman, and brought her unto the man.
23
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my
flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Therefore
shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his
wife: and they shall be one flesh.
