Reverend Curtis L. Cruell came to Easley in 1974 from Olive Grove Baptist Church, Florence, South Carolina after serving there for four years. He was reared in Slater-Marietta, South Carolina and graduated from Lincoln High School, Taylors, South Carolina. He received his B.A. Degree in 1972 from Morris College and did further study on the Bachelor of Divinity degree at Morris College, Sumter SC. In 1978, the Moorehouse School of Religion conferred upon him the Master of Divinity degree. Pastor Cruell in an active alumnus of Morris College, Sumter, South Carolina, member of #139 Masonic Lodge, Florence, South Carolina, and #188 Order of Bright Light Eastern Star, South Carolina Educational and Missionary Convention, Florence, South Carolina, and affiliated Counties Educational and Missionary Union. He is married to the former Janice Matthews of Florence County who is a school teacher in the local school system. They have two children Since 1974 the membership has increased greatly. The overall church program is thriving and God is blessing Easley Union right now. |
